Ok Because Our container from Mexico is finally coming in ...only took what? THREE mths...oy...I am all over the use of color. They are WILD about the use of it there. So here is an album with some great color ideas. Actually the Zapadora encouraged Lee Zeltzer to use this kind of palette in his recent house reno. I will post photos when he is finished .Let's see how he did.
I know I have been incredibly slack about putting the new images of the changes to Dave's house that The Zapadora helped with. It is only due to another VERY loyal client sending her photos that I am doing it NOW! Thanks Louise!!!!!...so,check out the new images and hopefully you will like what we did. ..Tried to keep it simple, elegant, comfortable AND also be a reflection of David's unique style and personality . He was pretty much the dream client!
Here in Boquete, up a long and winding road ( is there any other sort here?) you will find the Traicos house. I have put images of this place on the blog now because we have been talking about and looking at Mexico and "Hacienda" style..and this is a house where they have really done this right. It's all about DETAIL...and proportion and balance. Here, there is a real attention to detail but the place never feels fussy or over-done. Click on the Album to the left "Hacienda done RIGHT" and see what you think. There are some great ideas here.
Soon I will add Product Photos and "Hacienda" Done RIGHT!...here in Boquete, Panama.
OK we are back from Faaabulous Mexico...the food..the stuff...the food ...the stuff....I will post some general photos and then later, design specific images..actually everything there is design specific...ok perhaps not us drinking in the afternoon at some incredible hacienda. But it is all related..for me.Check out the photo albump to the left re Mex. You will definitely get the picture..PPI. ..( Pathetic Pun Intended)
Last year Bill Streit and Donna O'toole took possesion of the old Noriega place up in Potrerillos Arriba. I am amazed at what they have been able to do in such a short amount of time. The place was in reasonable shape but had to be completely refurbished. Check out the album to the left for a few of the latest shots.
I will start adding images from Dave McDonald's place in El Frances, Boquete, Panama over the next few days. Ostensibly, the design brief there was simple, David wanted his entryway,lounge/dining area and outdoor terrace furnished and decorated in an uncluttered, elegant and comfortable way. The budget was tight but reasonable. The trick was, David has a very particular style. You will be able to tell that from the gear he collects....and this isn't just for the sake of collecting, he wears it...so The Zapadora had to be very cognisant of that when getting started. Below is a before and after of one small area. The Album to the left is a set of BEFORE pics. I will add more after shots as I get them.BEFORE the Zapadora
